Olivia Fanjoy is a dedicated clarinetist and music educator based in Southern Maine. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Music Education at the University of Southern Maine, where she studies clarinet under Dr. Thomas Parchman. Olivia performs actively in ensembles such as the Osher School of Music Wind Ensemble, the Southern Maine Symphony Orchestra, and the Osher School of Music Clarinet Trio.
In addition to her collegiate work, Olivia has extensive performance experience in pit orchestras for musicals and operas, including Urinetown, Heathers, Fiddler on the Roof, and Gianni Schicchi. She specializes in both clarinet and auxiliary clarinet.
Olivia completed an internship with Great Waters Music Festival, a non-profit music venue, where she gained valuable experience in arts administration and community outreach. She also received the Barbara and Dave Lobdell Scholarship in both 2023 and 2024, recognizing her musical excellence and commitment to music education.
As the President of the Collegiate National Association for Music Education chapter at her university, Olivia is passionate about inspiring the next generation of musicians. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes strong fundamentals, musical expression, and inclusivity. Being visually impaired, she is committed to making music education accessible for all students, using adaptive teaching strategies to ensure success for every learner.
